Roller Rebuilding help arrives

Debuting at the GIS in Orlando was help for equipment techs in rebuilding cutting unit rollers. The usual method of holding a roller is clamping it in a vise; the problem here is the smaller ones with thin metal can get crushed; leading to out of round situations. Roland McPherson, an equipment tech, developed and fabricated a jig or "brackets" to hold various sizes and shapes of rollers without damage while replacing the bearings and seals.

The fixture can handle front rollers from Toro rough mower decks all the way to gang rollers.
