Always doing things in their own quiet way, Smithco brought two new toys to the show in San Diego.

The Super Truck TVC 5000 is the size of a standard utility vehicle; but boasts a payload of 5000 lb. Some unique features are hydraulic drive train with planetary drive in the rear wheels, no shocks or springs in the rear, and a 35hp Kubota diesel to power the hydraulic system. It comes with power steering, single seat operator platform, and a choice of a gondola box for sand, gravel, dirt etc; or a hinged tailgate cargo box. MSRP is around $25,000 US

Continuing with the evolution of their “Green” Fleet, Smithco introduced the Spray Star 1100e; the first electric sprayer available. Last year in New Orleans they brought a Spray Star 1000 with an electric motor powering the spray pump, a “concept” vehicle. Between then and now they decided “Let’s throw out the engine and put in some batteries!” It can go over 25 miles with a full load and spray 22(6,000 sq. ft.) greens. Available is the Raven SCS 440 auto-rate controller for accurate chemical delivery. MSRP is $29,000-$33,000 depending on options. If you have noise restrictions, this is a "Must Have".
