Time running out to nominate your tech

Other awards might recognize the achievements of equipment managers, but only the original TurfNet Technician of the Year Award dates back to 2004.
Presented by The Toro Co. , TurfNet’s Technician of the Year Award recognizes golf course equipment managers for their ability to meet one or more of the following criteria: crisis management, effective budgeting, environmental awareness, helping to promote the careers of colleagues and employees, interpersonal communications, inventory management and cost control, overall condition of rolling stock, shop safety and work ethic.
If this sounds like your equipment manager (or someone else’s) then please nominate him or her for the original equipment manager’s award. But act quickly, deadline for nominations is March 5.
The winner will receive the Golden Wrench Award (which is a real, gold-plated wrench), a keepsake plaque and an all-expense-paid, weeklong training event at Toro's headquarters in Bloomington, Minn. Finalists and the winner also will be profiled on TurfNet.com .
Criteria on which candidates are judged include crisis management, effective budgeting, environmental awareness, helping to promote the careers of colleagues and employees, interpersonal communications, inventory management and cost control, overall condition of rolling stock, shop safety and work ethic.

Please include the name and phone number of your nominee, golf course at which he or she works and why they should be considered for the award, as well as your name, number and e-mail address.
Remember, the process really comes down to your ability to market on behalf of your equipment manager’s behalf. In other words, the more information you can provide, the better your tech’s chances at wowing our panel of judges. So get busy, and remember, the deadline for nominations is March 5. Good luck.
