Toro Brings Hybrid Fairway Mower to GIS

You knew it was coming; only a matter of time. At the San Antonio GIS Toro formally introduced their hybrid fairway mower.

Using the current platform, it's aptly named Reelmaster 5010-H. A 24.8hp Kubota D 1105 diesel engine is coupled with a 5000W inline generator and self-charging 48 volt battery pack.

100 hydraulic leak points were eliminated as well as savings from not replacing hyd reel hoses every 2 years in scheduled maintenance. It averages 20% fuel savings compared to a conventional fairway mower. The digital Info Center shows alerts, maintenance reminders, diagnostics, as well as transport and cutting info. The mower has "Plug & Mow" technology; just put on 5 or 7 inch reels in 8 or 11 blade configuration and the mower makes any needed adjustments.

The reel motors are a beefier version of those on the TriFlex greensmower. The cutting units come available with the usual accessories such as groomers and brushes.

The battery pack is mounted in the center below the main frame. It's rated for 3000 hrs.
